Art Classes and Workshops

Dive into a colourful underwater adventure! In this one-day workshop, young artists will learn how to draw and paint a vibrant fish full of personality. We’ll explore shape, pattern, and bold colour choices to create a dazzling fish themed artwork.  And the best part?  Every child will go home with their very own stuffed animal fish — the perfect cuddly companion to match their masterpiece!

Get ready to step into the world of style, storytelling, and creativity! In this hands-on workshop, young designers will explore how costumes help bring characters to life — from dramatic capes and bold colour palettes to magical silhouettes inspired by today’s most loved movies.  We’ll look at the fantastical costumes from Wicked, the whimsical style of Wonka, and the bold hero looks from The Hunger Games to spark ideas for original designs.  Whether your artist dreams of Broadway, movie sets, or designing their own closet, this workshop is the perfect way to explore beginner fashion design supportive studio.

This workshop can be adapted to different skill levels.  All artists are welcome!

 

Ages 8-14

Get ready for four weeks of pure cuteness! In this playful art series, young creators will explore a world filled with fluffy friends, tiny critters, and lovable animals of every kind. Each week features a new “cuddly creature” project designed to build confidence, spark imagination, and develop foundational art skills — all in a fun, supportive studio environment.​  With gentle instruction and lots of giggles, this series is perfect for young children who love animals, storytelling, and making art that feels warm and whimsical.  

 

This is a "drop off" program but interested parents will be welcome to stay for a few minutes during the first class to see our amazing studio space and meet Jen!

Get ready for a delightfully creative art mini session! In this hands-on workshop, artists will design and create a faux cake sculpture, decorating it with fun embellishments and realistic details. Using joint compound as “icing,” students will explore texture, form, and surface design while learning techniques that feel both playful and surprisingly sophisticated.

 

This two-class mini session is perfect for older artists who enjoy working with mixed media, experimenting with materials, and bringing imaginative ideas to life. With guided instruction and plenty of room for creative choice, each artist will leave with a one-of-a-kind faux cake they will be proud to display.

Our art classes for middle school students (grades 6-8) provide a fun and welcoming environment for our older artists to learn new skills and explore their creativity.  We will work with a variety of different mediums including watercolours, acrylics, pencil, collage, and marker.  Each artist is encouraged to add their own personality to their masterpieces. This class is perfect for all skill levels as the projects can be adapted as needed.

Please note that Mud Puddles Art Studio is a "screen-free" space.  Cell phones will be left outside the studio at all times.  We focus on creative fun and building positive social connections.​​

Mud Puddles Art Studio offers weekly art class options for children from SK- Grade 8. Children explore watercolours, acrylics, pencil, clay, paper mache, and more.  They make new friends while learning new skills and exploring their creativity.  

 

These classes are part of our "Mud Puddles Membership Program".  Our membership classes run from September-June to allow us to dive more deeply into our art curriculum.  This is our most popular format of classes and space is very limited!
